In the fall of 1982, Dean Nelson and his wife, Julie, left Texas A&M to start a risky business venture – a fertilizer and plant food business that would custom blend their product to meet the unique needs of professional growers, landscapers, and even homeowners. Relying on his reputation and strong work ethic, Dean was able to open a small plant in Waller, TX and create nutrient-rich fertilizer that became a top choice for both commercial and residential customers.
