Here at Ricks Front Door Refinishing we carry on with the same quality of Customer service, and awesome door restorations that we have served Houston for the past 13 years. With over 21,000 door refinishing projects under our belt, we understand the door refinishing business better than any of our competitors. No door refinishing company in The Greater Houston area has refinished more doors or installed more weather stripping than us, and that's a fact. We are the leader in our industry, no matter what their websites say.
Our family piano business was a great training ground to learn the craftsmanship of refinishing wood. Piano refinishing had to be perfect with an almost flawless finish. Because of the seasonal nature of the piano business, money was tight, so it was always, "chicken one day and feathers the next". In the off seasons we refinished furniture and rebuilt antiques to make ends meet, thus increasing our proficiency at refinishing wood. This same attention to detail that we had for piano and furniture refinishing is passed down as the gold standard for our quality control.
Awards & Recognition
Our company has trained and nurtured more young men and women to be professional refinishing craftsmen than any other company. This talent will stay with them for the rest of their lives. The joy is watching them grow and hone that craft outside of our company as if our own children. In order to give our craftsmen a sense of purpose and accomplishment we have a scale system set up that measures their skill sets and work longevity. A beginner employee would be rated as an Apprentice and they would work their way up to be a Master Refinisher. A Master Front Door Refinisher will have had to refinish a minimum of 1,000 doors. We have had the pleasure of training 6 Master Refinishers.
"Britt and his helper did a terrific job on my Mahogany/glass front door. It was severely weathered and a serious mess. The result was as good as new (or better) and definitely exceeded my expectation. This crew was on time, efficient, polite and the job was reasonably priced. The worked was performed with obvious pride and skill. I consider myself pretty handy but there is NO WAY I could achieve this kind of finish. Thanks."

"We found Rick's through other's positive reviews so took a chance. They came exactly as scheduled and did an excellent job. They came back a second time after the door had fully dried and did some touch up. They also installed a new door handle and lock we had purchased at no extra charge. We also had them put new weather stripping and bottom sash on the door. Overall the craftsmen did an excellent job. We highly recommend Rick's."

"Technicians arrived and were very professional. Evaluated door and what it needed to be restored. Informed me to get consent and started work. Looks like a brand new door. I will definitely use them again in future to keep door looking it’s best."
- David Strickland
"This is the second time I've had my door refinished and both times I had a great experience. They show up exactly when they say they will, and do a great job. Thanks Rick's Front Door"
- Michael Fleming
"Very happy. Phillip did a wonderful job. Door looked like a fine piece of furniture by the time he finished. Very professional in every way. On time, neat and clean, knowledgeable, respectful, the list goes on. Follow the craftsmen’s instructions regarding how long to leave the plastic up and to not use your door. The temporary inconvenience is well worth the beautiful result."
- Bama Girl
"This is the 3rd time we have used Rick's Front Door! They are an excellent company and do the job right the first time. They are efficient and friendly. They also follow up with their work to make sure everything has been done perfectly. I can not recommend them enough."
- Karen Davis Hodges
"Great company. This is our second time to have our front door refinished since 1996 and the refinish was perfect both times. The door takes direct sunlight every morning and is subject to weathering, but Rick's has allowed us to keep on going without having to replace the door."
